Clayton County, GA has selected Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. to upgrade the integrated security control system at the Clayton County Justice Center and its 1,536-bed Jail in Jonesboro, GA. The project involves replacing the existing system — originally installed by Black Creek in 2000 — with a modern Black Creek Super Display® Touchscreen electronic security solution.
This comprehensive upgrade will retire outdated technologies within both the Jail and Justice Center, replacing legacy touchscreen control stations and a graphic panel with state-of-the-art Super Display® touchscreen stations at fifteen (15) key locations. The implementation also encompasses the installation of new servers, utility computers, and an upgraded network infrastructure, featuring updated programmable logic controllers and Gigabit Ethernet switches to support the enhanced system. Additional improvements include new intercom and paging headend equipment, new intercom master stations, and a transition to a Genetec Video Recording & Management platform that supports both proprietary and nonproprietary cameras, allowing integrated camera call-up functionality on the touchscreen workstations. Existing assets—such as intercom stations, paging speakers, duress devices, and cameras—will be retained and seamlessly integrated to ensure cost efficiency and operational continuity.
As part of this phased upgrade, the Juvenile Justice Center will also receive a retrofit with Black Creek’s Super Display® touchscreen control system, addressing End-of-Life concerns for legacy equipment and leveraging the Windows® 10 operating system to deliver a reliable and supportable platform moving forward.
Each Super Display® Touchscreen station offers up to two LCD monitors, providing complete visibility and centralized control of facility security systems and live CCTV video feeds. Staff can efficiently manage camera selections, door and gate controls, intercom communications, and facility utilities from a single interface.
