The City of Newport News, Virginia, has chosen Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp.’s SallyPort©VA Jail Management System to support operations at the Newport News City Jail & Annex, a 525-bed facility managed by the Newport News Sheriff’s Office.
SallyPort©, Black Creek’s browser-based jail management solution, will deliver advanced efficiency and enhanced security for inmate recordkeeping through a robust suite of features, including My Queues and workflow management, digital mugshot capture, inmate screening and classification, time computation, property inventory and transaction tracking, standard and ad-hoc reporting, medical record management, comprehensive audit capabilities, threat group assessment, intra-agency messaging, and an electronic shift log replacing paper-based processes. The system installation will also feature integration with the Livescan fingerprint system and an inmate commissary system. In addition, Newport News will implement Black Creek’s Watch Tour® Manager, a wellness check and guard tour platform designed to help agency leaders verify that facility rounds are completed on schedule and in accordance with established procedures.
