Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp., a leader in correctional facility security solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Randall Lamb Associates, Inc. to design advanced security control system upgrades as part of the renovation of the George F. Bailey Detention Facility (GFBDF), operated by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Randall Lamb Associates, the County of San Diego’s selected provider of architectural and engineering services for multiple detention facility modernization projects, will collaborate with Black Creek to deliver a comprehensive electronic security control system design tailored to the operational and safety priorities of the GFBDF. The resulting design documents will form the technical basis for upcoming procurement as the renovation progresses.
The GFBDF, a 1,380-bed facility, currently relies on a mechanical knob-and-button panel system, analog video surveillance, and a custom intercom network. Black Creek’s solution will introduce state-of-the-art programmable logic controllers and touchscreen-based control stations, providing centralized, real-time control and annunciation for door locks, intercoms, and additional field devices. The modernized system will also incorporate an IP-based CCTV network and a Voice-over-IP intercom platform, enabling the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office to leverage the latest technologies for correctional security and drive measurable improvements in facility safety, accountability, and operations.
