Oswego County, NY, has selected Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. to upgrade the Integrated Security Control System at the Oswego County Correctional Facility in Oswego, NY. Black Creek has supported the 160-bed facility since 2008, when the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office adopted Black Creek’s SallyPort©NY Inmate/Jail Management System, followed by the installation of Black Creek’s security control system the next year.
The project scope includes migrating Programmable Logic Controllers to a modern platform, upgrading all touchscreen workstations, replacing the existing Video Recording and Management software with a Genetec solution, and installing a new Harding intercom exchange. Existing field devices will be retained and integrated. The upgraded touchscreen control system will provide centralized command and monitoring of doors, intercoms, cameras, and additional facility systems. The project also introduces a new system for documenting guard rounds and inmate welfare checks, utilizing commercial off-the-shelf handheld tablets and Black Creek’s Watch Tour Manager® software. Both the Watch Tour and physical security touchscreen systems will be fully integrated with the existing SallyPort©NY jail/inmate management platform.
This upgrade will enhance safety for staff and visitors by introducing advanced functionality not available in the current system. Each Super Display® Touchscreen station features LCD monitors that display comprehensive security controls, CCTV camera feeds, and video displays, allowing officers to easily select camera views, manage facility utilities, and more. By improving system functionality and integration, this upgrade will streamline security operations, optimize staff efficiency, and reduce ongoing maintenance costs for the facility.
