Ulster County, NY has awarded Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. a contract to upgrade the Security Control System at the Ulster County Jail, located within the Law Enforcement Center in Kingston, NY. Black Creek has partnered with this 426-bed facility since 2002, when the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office first deployed Black Creek’s physical security control system at the jail.
The project scope includes migrating existing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to an advanced platform, upgrading all touchscreen workstations to current standards, replacing the facility’s Video Recording and Management system with a Bosch solution, implementing a new Maxxess access control system, and installing updated intercom master stations. Reuse of existing field devices is planned wherever feasible, except analog cameras, which will be upgraded to IP-based models. The updated touchscreen control system will maintain comprehensive command and monitoring capabilities for doors, intercoms, cameras, and other facility systems.
This enhanced Black Creek system will provide significant operational and safety improvements for staff and visitors by delivering capabilities beyond those of the legacy system. Each Super Display® Touchscreen station features LCD monitors presenting complete facility security controls as well as direct CCTV video selection and display. Officers will benefit from intuitive camera selection, utility control, and streamlined workflows. The system upgrade is designed to simplify security management, reduce maintenance expenses, and boost staff efficiency throughout the facility.
