The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has selected Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. to deploy the Sentry Staff Officer Duress Monitoring System at the Washington County Correctional Facility in Fort Edward, NY. Building on a partnership that began in 1993 with Black Creek’s installation of the Super Display® Touchscreen System, this new contract further modernizes the facility’s security infrastructure.
The Sentry Staff System leverages advanced Bluetooth technology to provide real-time identification and continuous monitoring of personnel through belt-worn tags, each mapped to a unique ID within Black Creek’s application software. When an officer activates the emergency button, an alert is immediately transmitted to monitoring workstations to ensure a rapid response. Additionally, the system includes an integrated device indicator that detects if the tag tilts beyond 60 degrees from vertical, automatically triggering a man-down alarm with a pre-alarm feature to minimize false alerts. Seamlessly integrated into the existing Super Display® touchscreen-based security control system, Sentry Staff ensures that all duress alarms are instantly annunciated at the touchscreen workstation, elevating officer safety and facilitating prompt incident management throughout the facility.
