2026 | DCJS 2026-2027 LE Tech Grant Program

 

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is offering up to $75 million in funding to support law enforcement technology (LETech) for eligible agencies across New York State (excluding NYC).

The Law Enforcement Technology (LETech) 2026-2027 Grant Program is designed to fund technology, software, and equipment to help local municipal police and sheriff’s agencies in New York State, outside of New York City; this includes city, town, village, or tribal police departments as well as county sheriff’s offices. 

Purpose

The program funds technology, software, and equipment to help law enforcement:

• • Prevent and solve crimes (especially violent crime)
  • Improve public safety and officer protection
  • Enhance community engagement and trust
  • Support collaboration across agencies  

Eligible Applicants

• Local municipal police and sheriff’s offices in NYS (outside NYC)
• Must employ sworn officers with police powers

Where the Funding Can Be Applied

What Can Be Funded

Eligible items include:

• Surveillance Cameras and Storage (Mobile/Fixed)
  • Ask us about Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Milestone, and more! We can provide or upgrade your CCTV system. Contact Black Creek.
• Software Technology Applications, Development and Deployment*
  • Such as Black Creek’s Real-Time Video Intelligence CCTV monitoring software that alerts staff to aggression, fights, assaults, falls, weapons, fires, etc. that may be missed on surveillance due to fatigue, distraction, or staffing shortage
  • Such as Black Creek’s Citadel Records Management System and/or SallyPort©NY Inmate Management System
• Handheld Scanners/Readers/Radios/Analyzers
• Lifesaving Equipment (Trauma Kits, AEDs, etc.)
  • Such as Black Creek’s Sentry Care Detainee Well-Being Monitoring System
• Unmanned Vehicles (UAVs, also known as “drones”)
• Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Mitigation Systems
• 3-D Crime Scene Laser Scanner
• Patrol Vehicle and Office Equipment (PC/Tablet, Scanners, Printer, etc.)
• Vehicle Mobilization Equipment
• Body Worn Equipment (Cameras, Vests)
• Traffic and Safety Equipment
• Lighting Systems
• License Plate Readers (Mobile/Fixed)

Not allowed:

• Vehicles
• Firearms
• Tasers (i.e., conducted energy devices)
• Cell phone applications
• Out-of-scope expenses and indirect costs
• Any use tied to civil immigration enforcement
• Construction (other than minimal renovations as justified by program design and preapproved by DCJS)
  
  

* Grantee agencies may apply for record or case management systems (RMS or CMS) or to cover costs associated with updated crime reporting modules within such systems (e.g., National Incident-Based Reporting System compliant data reporting). However, New York State DCJS is currently exploring a statewide RMS solution that would be made available to local law enforcement agencies, so agencies may wish to request different technological offerings under this solicitation.
