Birmingham, AL – July 5, 2018 – Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. has been awarded a contract to furnish its Super Display^® Touchscreen Security System at the new 68-bed Schoharie County Jail being built in the Town of Schoharie, New York. The new facility will replace the existing jail in the Village of Schoharie that was damaged by Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. That jail has been inoperable since then, and County prisoners have been boarded in other jails outside Schoharie County. The new jail is expected to begin housing prisoners in 2020.

Schoharie County has been a customer of Black Creek since 2015, when it installed its SallyPort^© Jail Management System (JMS). The scope of the work includes furnishing a new locking control system with two dual monitor Super Display^® touchscreen stations in Central Control and three single monitor touchscreen stations in Housing Units. The facility will also implement Wi-Fi connected Android tablets in dayrooms for wireless security control and watch tour rounds using Black Creek’s Watch Tour^® Manager software. The project also includes a new access control system, CCTV system, intercom system, duress alarm system, utility control system, and other hardware as needed.

The new system will make security control more efficient and save the facility money by decreasing maintenance costs and increasing staff productivity. Safety of visitors and staff will also greatly improve. Each Super Display^® Touchscreen station will feature up to two large-format LCD monitors that display all the facility’s security controls and a CCTV camera call-up and video display. An officer can easily select different camera viewpoints, control facility utilities, and more, for fast and intuitive security management.
