Birmingham, AL – May 15, 2020 – Monroe County has awarded Black Creek the security controls portion of the project to renovate the existing 3rd Floor of the Monroe Co. Public Safety Building located in Rochester, NY. Black Creek has been working with the 1,150-bed facility since 2000, when the County originally implemented Black Creek’s physical security control system.

The renovation includes selective demolition of existing partitions and finishes; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system distribution; and limited abatement of asbestos-containing materials. New construction includes partitions; finishes; millwork; door frames/hardware; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system distribution and equipment; provision of a new fire protection system; detention-grade door/frame hardware; electronic security equipment; and detention-grade mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Black Creek’s scope of the work will involve extending the existing Black Creek security control system into the renovated 3rd floor secured detention area for control and annunciation of doors, intercoms, duress buttons, cameras, and other security devices as required to maintain the secure detention perimeter within the Public Safety Building.
