Putnam County, NY, Selects Black Creek to Provide New SallyPort^©NY Jail Management System

Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. has been chosen to implement our SallyPort©NY Jail Management System for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office will utilize Black Creek’s SallyPort©NY JMS software to streamline inmate data management at the Putnam County Jail in Carmel, NY—a medium security facility accommodating an average daily population of 50 to 65 inmates, with approximately 190 new bookings per month. Typically, individuals are housed at this facility for up to two years.

SallyPort©NY is a browser-based jail management system engineered to enhance security and operational efficiency in inmate records management. Core features include My Queues and workflow automation, digital mugshot capture, comprehensive screening and classification, inmate time calculation, property inventory management, advanced scheduling, facility account modules, robust standard and ad-hoc reporting, medical management, detailed audit trails, threat group assessment, intra-agency messaging, and a digital shift log to replace paper-based processes. For the Putnam County implementation, additional integrations will include a Livescan fingerprint interface, a connection to the VINE database for automated victim notifications on inmate releases, integration with the facility’s GTL inmate phone system, a driver’s license scanner for visitor management, and an Inmate Commissary interface. The deployment will leverage driver’s license and fingerprint scanners to further streamline workflows and data entry processes.

As part of this modernization initiative, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will also deploy Black Creek’s Watch Tour Manager®, an advanced correctional wellness check and guard tour system. This technology empowers facility management to verify scheduled security tours are completed in accordance with policy. Fully integrated with SallyPort©NY, Watch Tour Manager® utilizes mobile devices to enable officers to conduct tours, capture images and videos, enter observations, and receive alerts in real time. Supervisors benefit from immediate notifications regarding missed or delayed tours, along with comprehensive reporting tools offering tracking by officer, unit, alert type, and date range.
