Frederick County, MD, Selects Black Creek to Provide New SallyPort^©MD Jail Management System

Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. has been selected to implement its SallyPort©MD Jail Management System (JMS) as a replacement for the current jail management platform serving Frederick County, MD. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and Frederick County Adult Detention Center will leverage the SallyPort©MD JMS software to manage comprehensive inmate data, with dedicated interfaces provided for select agency systems. All legacy records from the retiring JMS will be migrated to the new database environment to ensure data continuity. The deployment of Black Creek’s SallyPort©MD JMS will be coordinated with the launch of a new Records Management System (RMS) administered by a separate vendor.

SallyPort©MD is an enterprise-level, state-specific, browser-based jail management solution engineered to deliver operational efficiency through its robust feature set. Core system capabilities include My Queues and workflow automation, digital mugshot capture, inmate screening and classification, time computation, property inventory and transaction management, scheduling modules, facility accounting, medical documentation, audit functionality, threat group assessment, intra-agency messaging, and an electronic shift log to supplant traditional paper-based processes.

To further support facility operations, the SallyPort© Watch Tour Manager® module will be deployed to document routine guard rounds and inmate welfare checks. Additional integrations for the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office will include: an interface to the current and forthcoming Records Management Systems for court and case management, a Livescan fingerprint capture interface, connectivity to the Appriss VINE network for automated victim notification upon inmate release, and direct interfaces to the facility’s inmate services, including telephony, commissary, and electronic medical record systems.
