Black Creek to Replace Jail CCTV System at Washington County, NY Correctional Facility

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has awarded Black Creek a contract to replace the existing Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system at the 179-bed Washington County Correctional Facility located in Fort Edward, New York. Black Creek has worked with Washington County since 1993 when it first installed its Super Display^® Touchscreen System. Black Creek has also installed its SallyPort^©NY Jail Management System, electronic Shift Log, and Watch Tour Manager Systems at the Jail, all of which are integrated with the security system.

To provide quality digital video, Black Creek will furnish and install new high-definition IP cameras to replace existing outdated analog cameras. Black Creek will also replace the existing CCTV video management system with a new state-of-the-art Milestone XProtect™ Video Recording and Management System. As part of the CCTV upgrade, Black Creek will also furnish and install new touchscreen computer workstations and network infrastructure (such as POE switches) to support the upgraded CCTV system. New CAT6 and fiber optic cable will be provided where necessary to carry digital video signals. All other integrated security control system components already installed will be reused as is.

The new CCTV system will improve the safety of staff and visitors by providing enhanced video quality not available with the existing analog cameras. Each Super Display^® Touchscreen station features one or more LCD monitors that display all the facility’s security controls and a CCTV camera call-up and video display. An officer can easily select different camera viewpoints, control facility utilities, and more. The system upgrade will make security control easier and save the facility money by decreasing maintenance costs and increasing staff efficiency.
