Pittsburg Co., Jail (McAlester, OK)

September 3, 2024 – Pittsburg Co., OK, has contracted with Black Creek Integrated Systems Corp. to replace the outdated analog intercom system at the County Jail with a new Harding Voice-Over-IP (VOIP)-based intercom system. The new intercom system will be integrated with the facility’s existing Black Creek Super Display® Touchscreen Control System. The new Harding intercom system will replace an outdated system that utilized MTS intercom stations and TOA headend.

Existing detention intercoms will be removed and replaced with 168 new VOIP-based intercom stations at existing locations. Operational intercom headend equipment will be replaced with new Harding IP-based intercom headend equipment. A new IP intercom master station will be provided at each existing Touchscreen Control Station. Existing paging speakers already integrated into the security control system will be reused to provide paging in approximately 20 zones.

The new Harding intercom/paging system to be installed by Black Creek will improve the communications between inmates and staff, as the existing analog system was aged and unreliable; failure in communication promotes unsafe conditions for both detainees and staff. The new system will alleviate points of failure and help assure safety of both staff and inmates.
